Alma Harris

Graveside services for Mrs. Alma Harris, 79, of Gilmer will be held 10:00 A. M., Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Cherokee Cemetery with Bro. Kenneth Montgomery officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mrs. Harris passed away on Monday, February 04, 2013 in Longview. She was born on August 6, 1933, in Mineola, Texas, to Virgil Newton Hooks and Daphney Tabitha Strange Hooks. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and a Baptist. She is survived by daughters, Diane Smith, Brenda Breeding and husband, Ron, Sandra Martinez and husband, Oscar all of Gilmer; brother, Selwyn Hooks of Point, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Harris in 1992. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
