Audrey Mae Erwin

Graveside services for Audrey Mae Erwin, 83 of Gilmer will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2014 at Morris Cemetery in Upshur County with Pastor Tommy Brandon officiating. Interment will be in the Morris Cemetery. Arrangements are under the directions of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Erwin passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 in Gilmer. Mrs. Erwin was born April 25, 1931 in Canton to Samuel Newton Prestridge & Eva May. Her mother died shortly after giving birth to her. She never knew her mother. Her two older sisters, helped raise her from birth. She was a member of Calvary Church of Fort Worth from 1977-2010. She started her sewing career at Honeytogs in Gladewater and then went to the big city of Ft. Worth and worked for Dickeys and Walls sewing Industry all her life. After retirement she became a full-time nanny for two different families. She ran the food pantry for years at the church and she always helped in the clothes closet. She is survived by her daughter, Nelda Jo Knight of Gilmer; son & daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Rachel Baggett of San Antonio; sister, Jessie Lancaster; grandchildren, John & Stacy Shuler of Gilmer, Donnie Baggett of California, Lauren Baggett of San Antonio, Kaitlynn Baggett of San Antonio, Jacklyn Baggett of San Antonia, Samantha Baggett of San Antonia; great-grandchildren, Sunni Anne Shuler, Leora Grace Shuler of Gilmer and Kaleb Baggett of San Antonio. Mrs. Erwin was preceded in death by her brothers, I.G. Prestridge, Joe Prestridge and Johnnie Prestidge; sisters, Loraine Wheeler and Irene Wheeler. No formal visitation is scheduled.
