Beda Jaquez Hackney

Beda Jaquez Hackney, age 53 of Pritchett, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Good Shepherd Medical Center of Longview. Beda was born in Abilene on December 18, 1966, to Juan Jaquez and Lena Molina Jaquez. She worked as a stock clerk for Wal-Mart in Gilmer for 20 years and was a Baptist. She enjoyed fishing, working in her yard, spending time with her family, and caring for her beloved dogs. Beda had a joyful spirit, always smiling, and laughing; she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her mother, Lena Jaquez of Midland; boyfriend, Billy Jack Shirey of Pritchett; daughters, Roxanne Shirey and husband Justin of Pritchett, Stacy Villarreal of Denton, Rose Rogers and husband James of Abilene; son, Johnathan Hackney of Johnson City, Tn.; sisters, Geneva “Pat” Comacho and husband Junior of Abilene, Juanita Arrieta of Chicago,Il.; brothers, Jamie Jaquez of Abilene, Dino Jaquez and wife Jennifer of Midland; grandchildren, Jayden Shirey, Jacob Shirey, Hilton Hackney, Jaycee Hackney, Amzie Hackney, Mya Villarreal, Clarence Hunter, Jazmyn Stanch, Katurah Stanch, Danika Morgan, and Dyamond Villarreal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Beda was preceded in death by her father, Juan Jaquez; husband, Wayne Hackney; siblings, David Jaquez, BeBe Jaquez, Nora Jaquez, Orlando “butch” Jaquez, Mario Jaquez, Israel “Hawk” Jaquez; granddaughter, Jillian Odessa Shirey

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the Glade Creek Baptist Church, Bro. Wayne Norvell officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater. Interment at Glade Creek Cemetery.
