Memorial services for Benny Tom Wyatt, 65, of Gilmer will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Gilmer with Bro. Marion Palmer officiating. Mr. Wyatt passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in a Tyler hospital. Mr. Wyatt was born September 6, 1945 in Gilmer, Texas to Thomas Morgan and Mattie Lou Hawkins Wyatt. He was a salesman and veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Benny always had a story to tell and knew no stranger. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Gilmer, where he sang as a charter member of the "Prime Timers" choir group. He also donated much of his time and assistance at the East Texas Food Bank and the Gilmer Wesley House. He was a devoted son and a loving and proud father and grandfather. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law: Greg Wyatt of Lewisville, Tx. and Josh and Angela Wyatt of Allen, Tx.; aunt and husband: Dewtrine and A.J. Clower of Harleton; grandchildren: Austin Wyatt and Tyler Wyatt; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011 prior to the service at the Old Fellowship Hall (Adult Number 6) at First Baptist Church in Gilmer. After the service a reception will following in the Old Fellowship Hall.
