Funeral service for Mrs. Betty Jane Brown, 79, of Gilmer will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Reverend Ray Thompson officiating. Interment will follow Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Mrs. Brown passed away on December 25, 2014 in Gilmer. She was born on August 15, 1935, in Gilmer, Texas, to William Ellis Stembridge and Valta Taylor Stembridge. Mrs. Brown was a retired school teacher from GISD Elementary. She was a member of the Retired Teacher Association, a member of Enon Baptist Church and a former Rangerette. She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Brown of Gilmer; son, Mike Reardon and wife, Delane of Gilmer; daughter-in-law, Linda Reardon of Gilmer; step-sons, Darrell Brown of Austin and Richard Brown and his wife, Sharon of Pittsburg; step-daughters, Rebecca Fountain and husband Bobby of Longview; Deborah Philyah and husband James of Billings, Montana; step-daughter-in-law, Sandra Brown of Saginaw; brother and sister-in-law, Sonny and Audrey Stembridge of Gilmer, two nieces, Stacey Monty and husband, David of Grand Saline, Mary Kim Ragsdale and husband, Greg of Cason; five grandchildren, Harley Reardon and wife Angie, Sarah Deller and husband, Eric, Kevin Reardon and wife, Amanda, Paul Mason Reardon, Karen Reardon; eight great grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Johnny Reardon; son, Danny Reardon; daughter, Susan Ann Reardon; step-son, Robert Brown. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
