Services for Betty Collier Dempe, 82, of Gilmer, will be 11:00 A. M., Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Bro. Randy Stracener and Reverend Andy Plunk officiating, burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Betty went to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Betty was born on January 15, 1931, in Gilmer, Texas to Charlie R. Collier, Sr. and Allie Elizabeth Watkins. Betty was Dr. Fenlaw"s office nurse for 32 years at Ragland-Fenlaw-Ford Clinic and Hospital. She worked in the nursing field for many years, retiring in 1999. Betty enjoyed life, family and friends, to her the most precious things in life were free. Betty lived in Gilmer all her life and it seemed to her family that just about everyone knew her. Betty was a lifelong Baptist and attended Grace Baptist Church in Gilmer. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Aubrey Stevens; three brothers, Robert Wayne Collier, Charles R. Collier, Jr. and Bobby John Collier; three nephews, Charles R. Collier, Billy Mack Collier, Garry Wayne Collier and niece, Deborah Kay Collier Waymire. She is survived by nephews, Mark Collier and wife, Penny of Gilmer; Yancy Collier of Gilmer; niece Martha Campbell of Longview; great nieces Haley and Samantha Collier, Becky Schultz and Vicki Collier; great nephews, Scott Campbell, Cody Collier, Michael Collier, Sammy Collier and Kyle Waymire; also many great-great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
