Bill McChristian Gladewater -- Services for Bill McChristian, 72, of Gladewater, will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 10 A.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater with Minister Glen Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Rock Springs Cemetery. Born on March 9, 1939, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, he died on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired employee of SWEPCO. He was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Mavericks. He enjoyed music throughout his life. As a young man he played in his own band Bill and the Trebles as an opening act for famous musicians throughout the United States and Canada. He also enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his wife, Freda McChristian of Gladewater; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Mike Kirkindoll of Longview; Megan and Jack Bradley of Harker Heights; granddaughter, Molly McChristian Bradley; brother, Bob McChristian of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Helen Gray of Farmington, Arkansas; and Becky Waldren of Fayetteville, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Killer II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Lula Mae McChristian; brother, Richard McChristian; sisters, Christine Rouse and Doris Thomas. In celebration of his life, the family encourages everyone who attends the service to wear red. No formal visitation is scheduled.
