Billie Lee Green, Sr.

Billie was born May 30th, 1942 in Killeen, Texas to the late Rueben Monroe Green and Myrle Oletha Green. He spent his childhood years in the heart of the Texas Hill Country and the Gulf Coast of Matagorda. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1960-1964. After returning back to Texas, he married Venita Sue Kinney-Green in Dallas, Texas on July 24th, 1965. Billie retired from Texaco after 31 years of faithful service in the oil and gas business. Billie passed away on April 29th, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his two children. He will be forever be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Billie is survived by his son Patrick Monroe Green and wife Elena, daughter Deborah Johnston and husband Kelly, grandson Kade Nicholas Johnston, and granddaughter Kayla Suellen Johnston.

Billie was preceded in death by his beautiful bride Sue just 3 months ago. He is also preceded in death by his parents, and his son Billie Lee Green, Jr.

A special thank you to the staff of Traditions Hospice-Nurse Leslie, Jessica, Terry, Kristin, and many others for the compassion and care they gave Billie in his final days.

A celebration of life service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the Chapel of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
