Funeral services for Billy E. Marsh, 79, of Gilmer will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Gilmer with Reverend James Nickell officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Arrangements are by Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Marsh passed away Friday, December 30, 2011, at a Longview hospital. Mr. Marsh was born September 1, 1932, in San Angelo, Texas to Willie Edward and Addie Young Marsh. He was a retired Master Sergeant (E7) with the United States Air Force having served two tours in the Korean War and received the Purple Heart. After his military service he worked in the Data Processing Department with Axelson. He is survived by his wife, Sue Marsh of Gilmer; sons, Major Stephen A. Marsh and Brad Marsh of Gilmer; daughters and son-in-laws, Leigh Ann and Stephen Snyder of Gilmer and Leslie and Dustin Hunt of Houston; brothers, John Marsh of California, Jessie Marsh of San Angelo, Gene Marsh of San Angelo, and Don Marsh of San Angelo; sisters, Artie Ransom of San Angelo, Karen Sue Miller, Carol Hart of Palestine; seven grandchildren, Bradley Marsh, Brandi Marsh, Dylan Marsh, Sydney Snyder, Anderson Snyder, Addisyn Snyder and Colton Hunt. He is also survived by his constant companion, his dog Jorge. Pallbearers will be Bradley Marsh, Doug Clinnard, Ron Buckner, Roy Helpenstill, Don Ray and Richard Hodges. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Joseph Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Quitman. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2012 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
