Billy Edward Glenn, 77 years old, passed away June 20, 2020 in his home surrounded by his loved ones and his dog Rock. Billy was born June 3, 1943 in Gilmer, Texas to G.W. Glenn, Jr. and Verdie Hill Glenn, who preceded him in death. He married Edith “Cookie” Glenn June 27, 1964 until her death October 10,1994. He is survived by his son Dennis Glenn, and wife Terri, grandson Brandon Glenn, and wife Mallory, Brothers- Charles Glenn, Joe Glenn, and Sister- Kathy Adegboye.
Billy worked for the City of Big Sandy for 26 years and retired from Upshur County Road/Bridge Precinct 3. During his retirement he enjoyed spending time at the Sabine River with his friends (James, Carol, and Jane) and his weekly prayer meeting with his buddy Steve. Billy enjoyed hunting and fishing, something that has been passed along to his son and grandson.
Due to COVID-19 and his wishes to keep things simple, there will be no formal visitation with only a private graveside service at Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy. Public viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 26th.
The family would like to thank his Hospice care team from PrimeCare (Channing, Reva, Courtney,Sheena, and Kenneth), they were truly a blessing. Thanks to all that prayed, called, sent texts, or visited. In lieu of flowers please make donations to a Hospice provider or the Agape House in Big Sandy in his honor.
