Memorial services for Mr. Billy Ray Tanner, 80, of Ore City will be held 2:00 P.M, Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Ross officiating. Mr. Tanner passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010 in Ore City. He was born January 17, 1930, in Uvalde, Texas to John and Olive Childress Tanner. Mr. Tanner was a retired oilfield welder and a member of the Bass "N" Miners Fishing Club. He is survived by; sisters, Olive Martin and Mary Dacus both of Houston; stepsons, Larry Wayne Henderson of Palestine and Robert Henderson of Tyler; stepdaughters, Elva Dicks of Diana and Geraldine Edwards of Louisiana; 21 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great - great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Tanner was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Tanner; son, Danny Tanner and brother, Everett Dicks and stepdaughter, Patsy McCoy. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
