Obituary for Bob Kimball

Robert “Bob” Kimball, 88 of Holly Lake Ranch was born on March 18, 1932 in Seminole, Oklahoma to the late Arthur and Emma Fern Claiborne Kimball and passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 in Tyler. He worked as a sales director for Amtrak until his retirement.
Robert had the genuine Texas Cowboy Spirit. As a younger man he worked as a ranch hand on the famous Crutch ranch in the Texas Panhandle. He enjoyed participating in boat racing, hunting and fishing. Bass fishing was his lifelong passion and it inspired him to start Coon-Tail Lures which produced handmade reproductions of the vintage and antique lures from his own tackle box. He was always quick to share his knowledge of the sport and was a member of several bass clubs where he won many tournaments. Robert had a practical and sharp mind and was a prolific reader his whole life. He loved to dance and never missed the opportunity to twirl someone around the room. He had a life of adventure and always had an interesting story to tell. He was an innovative leader and a protective husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Lawanda “Wanda” Kimball of Holly Lake Ranch; daughters, Dana Chastang and husband, Marcus of Gilmer and Sandra “Sandy” Kimball of Holly Lake Ranch; great grandchild, Hermione “Minnie” Shelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kimball is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ardith Henderson and Myrna Tate; and grandchild, Billie Baker.
