Cecil Amos Turner

Cecil Amos Turner was born August 13, 1920, in Bivins, Texas to Clifton and Rose Lee Turner and died February 19, 2011 in Gilmer, Texas. He married Jean Spradlin on September 21, 1946, in Russell, Kentucky and she died December, 2010. Cecil and Jean started studying with and became Jehovah"s Witnesses in 1963. Cecil was a veteran of WWII and was a retired truck mechanic. His special gift was for music and he was a member of the Old Time Fiddlers association and played in many contests. As a young musician he played in bands and entertained at many public functions and on the radio. Those left to cherish his memory are his two brothers, Clifton Turner of Phoenix, AZ and Lawrence Turner of Monroe, LA. ; daughter Patricia Jeffrey and her husband, Lance of McMahan, Texas; daughter Linda Gray and her husband Mike of Ore City, Texas; two grandsons, Nathan Gray and Dustin Kibbe; granddaughter, Michelle Garner and her husband Michael of Ft. Worth; great granddaughter, Jasmine Heather Garner, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Ore City Kingdom Hall of Jehovah"s Witnesses, located at the corner of Hwy 726 and 259 ore City with Michael Garner officiating.
