Charles Murray Bennett

On March 20, 2017, USMC LCpl Charles Murray Bennett, of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, born in Denham Springs, LA on August 14, 1936, the Light of the Life of his wife of 58 years, Linda Laisle Bennett, went to be with the Light of the World. He had dedicated more than half of his life to serving the Lord in Europe and in Israel.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Bennett; mother, Lorena Williams Bennett; three sisters, Wanda, Ethel, and Ina; three brothers, Morris Ray, Robert, and James; and one grandchild, Stephanie Renee Rust.
He will be sorely missed by his many friends and family that he has left behind including his wife; two sons, Charles Dale Bennett and Thomas Elton Bennett, both of Karnack, TX; and daughter, Kimberly Yvonne Bennett, of McKinney, TX. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He spent his life as a testimony to the love and the life of his Lord and Savior and his mark has been left on the multitude of hearts that he touched on his journey through this life. Although his time here has come to an end, his love and legacy will live on in the countless others that he came in contact with during this life.
We are not saying “Goodbye,” we are only saying “See you later” for we believe that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater, TX on Wednesday, March 22 from 6-8 PM and the funeral will be held at Calvary Baptist Church of Gladewater, TX on Thursday, March 23 at 10 AM with interment at the Holly Tree Cemetery in Holly Lake Ranch, TX.
