Graveside services for Charles Sidney Stilwell, 73, of Gladewater, Texas will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Upshur County with Pastor Mark Davidson officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Mr. Stilwell passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 in a Longview hospital. Mr. Stilwell was born March 8, 1939, in Gilmer, Texas to Calvin and Dorothy Cox Stilwell. He was a retired supervisor with Texas Eastman and a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Zelda Stilwell of Gladewater; son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Mary Stilwell of Alvin, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Talitha and David Thompson of Longview, Alea and Mark Murray of Gladewater and Robin Jackson of Gladewater; sisters and brother-in-law, Glenda Thompson of Pritchett and Sue and David Starr of Pritchett; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Stilwell was preceded in death by one great-grandchild. He always took good care of his family and loved them unconditionally. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
