Charles Victor "Vic" Barrow

Funeral services for Charles Victor “Vic” Barrow, 73, of Gladewater will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery in Gladewater. Mr. Barrow passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at his home with his wife, Susan and son, Chris at his bedside; following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Barrow was born July 17, 1944 to Charles “Arkie” and Marjorie Upchurch Barrow. Mr. Barrow was raised and attended school in Gladewater, Texas, graduating in 1962.

Mr. Barrow spent the majority of his younger adult life in Southeast Texas working as a millwright in the paper mills and in maintenance at the various oil and gas refineries in that area. He ended his career as a maintenance technician with Trane in Tyler before retiring at the age of 59 due to his illness. He was a Union man and was a member of several different unions throughout his career.

Mr. Barrow was preceded in death by his father, Arkie Barrow and daughter, Kellee Hubert.

He is survived by his mother, Margie Barrow; loving wife, Susan; son, Chris; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Scott and Janis Newton; step-grandson, Lane Newton; mother-in-law, Edna McIntosh; brothers and their wives, Ken and Cecillia Barrow and David and Kathy Barrow; sister-in-law, Kathy Bailey; brothers-in-law, Charles and Cindy McIntosh along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sons, Chug Hubert, Matt Hubert, Scott Brinkman and Brian Brinkman; and very special cousin, Debbie Cirkles.

Susan would like to thank his dialysis nurses and techs at DaVita Fiedonia and Hospice of East Texas for all the care provided with love. She also wants to thank his son, Chris who has been his caregiver and sidekick throughout the past five years.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.

The family will be receiving guest at their home.
