Funeral services for Cheyenne Johnson, 94, of Gilmer will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be at Croley Funeral Home on Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Cheyenne Johnson was born on January 7, 1918 and passed peacefully from this world on June 29, 2012, in Longview, Texas. Cheyenne lived and worked most of his life in Farmington, NM. He was born in Bettie, Texas and moved to Gilmer, 1993. He was a member and deacon of Oak Hill Baptist Church where he served faithfully. Cheyenne is survived by his wife, Lurline Johnson, son and daughter-in-law, Larry and June Johnson of Bettie, step-son and wife, Andie and Elaine Stracener of Longview, step-daughter and husband, Angie and George Heath of Gilmer, brother and wife, James and Jeanne Johnson of Bettie. Also, grandchildren and spouses, Wade and Delcine Johnson of Longview, Walt and Tina Johnson of Bettie, Sharon and James David Smith of Gladewater, Douglas and Cody Montgomery of Gilmer, Angelia and Tracy Briggs of Clarksville City, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Lillian Johnson, his parents Aubrey and Reid Johnson and brother, Forest Johnson. Cheyenne loved being with his family and was always ready to help in any way possible. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Pallbearers will be great grandsons, Mark Johnson, Paul Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Hunter Smith, Samuel Smith, Benjamin Johnson, Michael Johnson and grand nephew, Riley Coleman. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to Beacons Hospice, 5016 Gilmer Rd, Longview, Texas 75604 or Oak Hill Cemetery Fund, 5937 Holly Rd, Gilmer, Texas 75644
