Clarence Ray Grimes

Memorial services for C. R. (Bunky) Grimes will be held at First Christian Church in Longview, Saturday February 23rd 2019 at 11:00am. Bunky blessed this world with his devotion to family, friends, First Christian Church, and Longview Community Ministeries. His wit was quick and, his friendships were strong. (Sometimes they had to be to survive his wit.) He was a gifted and talented golfer who played the game well. His last round at Wood Hollow was a 68! Bunky was born and raised in Big Spring, TX and attended the University of North Texas where he received a BBA. He met his wife of 58 years, Fran, while attending the University. Bunky and Fran made Longview their home where they attended First Christian Church. Bunky taught Sunday school, served on outreach and personnel committees and also served as an elder. Bunky was employed by Continental Can. He later became involved in the real estate business as a Realtor and later as an appraiser. Bunky spent many hours volunteering for Longview Community Ministries, and made several medical mission trips to Guatemala with Refuge International. Family includes wife: Fran, children Gemilyn Grimes & wife Joni Schug, Sharon and husband Scott Johnson, and Geff & wife Amanda Grimes, grandchildren are Sara Sampson and husband Zach, Alllison Johnson and Elizabeth Grimes. He is also survived by nephews Dick and Randy Grimes and sister-in-law Lolita Grimes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Longview Community Ministries.
