Graveside services for David Mitchell Mayrell, 79, of Garland will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 11, 2020 at Hopewell Cemetery in Upshur County with Bro. Donny Chamberlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. David passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at a Dallas hospital.

Mr. Mayrell was born September 26, 1940 in Los Angeles, California to Raphael Joseph Mayrell and Winnie Dee Carter. He worked as a self-employed butcher and a member of the Methodist church.

David is survived by his wife, Janice Mayrell; sons, Joseph Mayrell, Michael Mayrell, and Andrew Mayrell; daughter, Tracy Mayrell; brothers, Steven Mayrell, and Alan Mayrell; sister, Shirley Miller; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Lawrence Mayrell, and sister, Geraldine Harwell.
