Deborah Watkins Smith

Deborah Watkins Smith (January 16, 1958–November 14, 2021) was born in Garland, Texas, to Mary Ruth and Billy Ray Watkins, and she married Larry Smith at Dallas’s Old City Park in 1985. She loved all children, but especially her own twins, Michael and Sarah, who she thought of always before herself.

Debbie Sue could never quite keep up with her email inbox, but somehow, if she’d ever met you, she’d keep track of exactly what you loved to eat, or your favorite hobby—she bought and made the perfect gifts, and she could never quite wait for the next holiday to give them to you. She will be remembered for her Christlike servant’s heart, her creativity, her way with children, and the brightness of her spirit.

Debbie is missed every day by her husband, Larry, by Sarah and Jackson, by Michael, Megan, Remi, and Bowen, and by the countless others she loved and cared for.
