Dennis Lee Gipson

GILMER- Funeral services for Dennis Lee Gipson, 70 of Gilmer, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Gilmer, Texas with Reverend Todd Kaunitz and Reverend Stephen Hill officiating. A private interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Mr. Gipson was born on May 14, 1946, in Gilmer to Doy Lee and Frances Gipson and passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016. Dennis graduated from Union Hill High School and East Texas State University. He served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam. Dennis retired from Upshur Rural Electric after 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was a deacon and faithful active member of Gilmer First Baptist Church. Mr. Gipson is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann Skinner Gipson of Gilmer; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Billy Carroll of Allen, Texas; daughter, Apryl Gipson of Addison, Texas; Grandson, Porter Carroll of Allen; brother and sister-in-law, Rickie and Nelda Gipson of Gilmer. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
