Donald Lee Baird, Sr.

Donald Lee Baird, Sr., 65, of Gladewater was born October 11, 1956 in New Boston, Texas to the late Henry Harold Baird and Dorothy Lorene Bates Baird. Mr. Baird passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Longview.

Donald owned and operated Glade Tire & Wrecker Service and more recently worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He enjoyed working on heavy machinery and digging holes with his Backhoe. Donald was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; who be missed by all those he leaves behind.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Carolyn Baird; brother Harold Glenn Baird; seventeen children Sissie Bible, Lee Laird, Bobby Baird, Sara Bunn, Kristina Hancock, Maleisha Baird, Kayla Baird, Heather Baird, Summer Baird, Christian Baird, Tamara Baird, Brandon Jace Baird, Clayton Plunkett, Emmanuel Baird, Lynnquaveous Baird and Kashara Martinez; eleven grandchildren Austin Bible, Lizzie Wright, Emily Bible, Gracie Baird, Bailey Baird, Leelan Baird, Luna Hancock, Reileigh Hancock, Keenan Ramirez, Kaden Bunn and Karson Baird; three great grandchildren Remington Bible, Cash Bible and Heidi Wright as well as many other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Charles Edward Baird and William Howard Baird.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater with burial at Gladewater Memorial Park following services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
