Donald Ray Thompson

Cremation arrangements for Donald Ray Thompson, 76, of Gladewater are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. A private family service will be held at a later date. Mr. Thompson passed away Monday, May 21, 2018, in Gladewater.

Mr. Thompson was born November 1, 1941 in Gilmer, Texas to the late Floyd Deleon Thompson and Mary J. Heaberlin Thompson. Donald worked for Crosby Lebus for more than 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed exercising, running marathons and riding motorcycles. Mr. Thompson was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by his loving family.

Donald is survived by two daughters Pamela Jobe and husband Richard and Donna Bunting and husband David; son Mark Thompson; two sisters Martha Howie and Betty Hill; six grandchildren Tricia Gilbert and husband Shawn, Daniel Arnold and wife Theresa, Justin Arnold, LaTasha Rodgers and husband Garith, Mason Swallow and wife Melissa and Josh Swallow and wife Ashley; 13 great grandchildren; his sweet puppy Ginger as well as many other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Betty Thompson who passed in December of 2017; a son Michael Thompson and his beloved fur baby Sugar.
