Dorothy Belle Hogan Cowan

Services for Mrs. Dorothy Belle Hogan Cowan, 98, of Gilmer, will be held 10:00 A. M., Friday, July 20, 2012, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Upshur County. She was born on April 28, 1914 in Upshur County, Texas to James William and Hattie Pearl French Hogan and passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in Gilmer. Mrs. Cowan was a homemaker, a member of the Shady Grove Church of Christ and charter member of the Pritchett Quilters. She is survived by her son, Perry Cowan of Gilmer; daughters, Anita Rednick of Dallas, Joan Fletcher of Gilmer and Sue Bates of White Oak; 10 grandchildren and10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Cowan was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Truman Perry Cowan. Pallbearers are Steven Cowan, Christopher Cowan, Justice Bates, Marco Granados, Paul Hancock and Dewayne Dahl. Honorary pallbearers are Marcel Rednick and Fred Marsh. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M at the funeral home.
