Douglas Shrum

Funeral services for Mr. Douglas Shrum, 94, of Garland, Texas will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Dr. Ray Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Enon Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas.

Mr. Shrum passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. He was born on September 2, 1923 in Gilmer, Texas to Clavis A. and Berta McPeek Shrum. Mr. Shrum served in the United States Army during WWII and was a retired heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and William Deiterman of Garland; sister, LaWanda Griggs and grandson, Doug Deiterman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Shrum and his parents, Clavis and Berta Shrum.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
