Elva Mae Finley

Elva Mae Finley, 84 of Gladewater, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on March 12, 2022. She left this earth to join Kenneth W. Finley, her husband of 66 years who passed away in 2011.
Elva was born in 1937 to John and Geneva Iwig in Alamogordo, New Mexico. It was there she met and married Kenneth Finley in 1955.
Elva was a Christian, a wonderful wife, a loving mother to four children, and a master home cook. She loved her family and dedicated her life to being at home with them. She was always busy; she cooked, sewed, loved gardening, music and hosted many family events. Her love of family and the Lord was never doubted. She was tender hearted and loved to sit down and visit. She always had time for anyone who needed her, and she was so very loved by her family.
She will be sorely missed by her four children: Dianna East of Warrenton, Oregon; Kim Hamilton and her husband Mike of Huntsville, Texas; Darla Mitcham of Gladewater; and Kenneth Finley, Jr. and his wife Jeanie of Gladewater. Elva has (5) grandchildren, (2) step grandchildren, (14) great grandchildren and (2) great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday March 19th at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Gilmer, Texas.
