Emma Lorene Watson

Emma Lorene Watson of Gilmer of Gilmer left this life and entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. She was at home, surrounded by family when she took the last steps of her earthly journey. Funeral services will be held at Croley Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday at 10:00 A.M with Rev. Wayne Norvel and her grandson Rev. Stephen R. Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview in Longview. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Lorene was born August 4, 1917 in Clayton, New Mexico to Rev. John M. and Iva House. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose family adored her. She was a woman of faith who lived out that faith daily in her actions to her family, friends, and strangers alike. Her strength of character, determination, commitment to God and family and overwhelming kindness to all were her trademarks. On March 15, 1963 she and Charles Paul Watson joined their hearts, love, and families in marriage at Waskom, Texas. They spent 47 wonderful years together. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jimmy Boykin, five brothers, Clifford, Gilbert, Bobby, Bill, and Jack House and son-in-law Bobby Andrews. Mrs. Watson is survived by her husband Paul of Gilmer, sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Barbara Boykin of Tool, Byron and Pat Watson of Dripping Springs, and Barbara Jean Boykin of Point; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Clifford McCartney of Gun Barrel City, Paula and Tommy Hill of Gilmer and Earlene Andrews of Pine; one brother, Junior House; five sisters, Dorothy Carter, Zelma Hirtigan, Betty Chesser, Ruth Borden and Naomi Holly; thirteen grandchildren; thirty four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family expresses a special thank you to members of the Kinsman Home Health and Hospice teams for the wonderful, loving and compassionate care they provided her during her health challenges. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kinsman Hospice Foundation or Matt"s House at 100 Buffalo St., Gilmer, Texas 75644.
