Fay Claxton

Fay Claxton went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 29, 2022, in Tyler, Texas. She was born May 22, 1935, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Joe Bailey and Velma M. Watson.

Fay was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church for many years. She played piano, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School. She worked for many years with AT&T and then Lucient Technologies. Family and friends enjoyed time with Fay, and she delighted in being a testament to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Matthew Allen Claxton; sister, Louella Foster and a nephew, James Gregory Foster.

Fay is survived by her sons, Daniel Claxton and wife, Judy, Joe Claxton and wife, Sharon; a sister, Joyce Willard and husband, Bill; a brother-in-law, James Foster; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with services to follow at 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church of Mineola, Texas, on Monday, May 2, 2022. She will be laid to rest at Hawkins City Cemetery, Hawkins, Texas.
