Memorial services for Ferrell Douglas "Doug" Cochran, 69, of Gilmer will be held 2:00 P.M, Saturday, January 14, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Gilmer, Texas with Bro. Marion Palmer officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer. Mr. Cochran passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2012 in Tyler. He was born on April 7, 1942, in Helmic, Texas to Felix Prentis Cochran and Bertha Hildred Holcomb Cochran. Mr. Cochran graduated from Stephen F. Austin and was a retired Research Technician from Exxon and worked for Shell Oil Company. He married Reba Ann Davis on April 12, 1965 in Nacogdoches, Texas. They moved to the Gilmer area 6 " years ago and he was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Cochran was a member of Bethesda Lodge # 142 A. F. & A. M and the District Deputy Grand Master for 2012. He is survived by his wife, Reba Cochran of Gilmer; son, Scott Cochran of Colorado Springs, CO.; daughter, Sharon Marie Gwaltney of Spring, Texas; brothers. Leland Cochran of Lufkin and Larry Cochran of Apple Springs, Texas; sisters, Wanda Pillows of Apple Springs, Texas, Marilyn Davis of Groveton, Texas and Felita Fischer of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Case Martinez, Emma Cochran, Trace and Trevor Gwaltney. Mr. Cochran was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends in Adult 6, First Baptist Church from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M on Saturday.
