Services for Frances "Judy" Robison, 72, of Gilmer will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Reverend David Woodson and Reverend Tony Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Cemetery in Upshur County. Frances June "Judy" Roach Robison was born June 22, 1941 to James Arlon Roach and Clara Lee Buchanan Roach Campbell. Judy was the third of four children born to the couple. She was born in Gilmer, Texas, where she remained the majority of her life. She is preceded in death by both her parents and siblings, James Roach, Mary Roach Collier Smith, and Fayrene Roach Lee. On December 22, 1962, she married Billy C. "Bill" Robison, with whom she recently celebrated 51 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed a life filled with joy, laughter, and love. Some of their most fun filled memories were made during the pilgrimage to Las Vegas which they made annually for over 20 years with their great friends, Wes and Letha Morris. Laughter and bonds also developed over cups of coffee and desert, shared with James and Mary Williams, who became as much family as friends. Judy had 3 children and was blessed by 3 when she became Bill"s bride, James Campbell, Nikki Robison Yordy, Sandy Robison Coleman, Billy L. Robison, Kerry Robison, and Joey Robison. She was a wonderful mother, teaching by example the importance of compassion and unconditional love. Later, her son in law, Jimmy Coleman was considered by her a great blessing, always making her feel special. Her greatest joy was her 5 grandsons, granddaughter, and 1 great granddaughter, Aron Robison, Rance and Rowdy Yordy, Billy, Nicholas, and Rain Coleman, and Taylor Robison. They were the great loves of her life. Among her many gifts and talents, she was an artist, sharing her work through the mediums of oil, ceramic, and crochet. She also loved to dance. Through their many years together, she and beloved husband, Bill, were a part of many dance associations, receiving a great number of awards, confirming their talent. Although she became frail and weak she remained an inspiration to her friends and family. Her example of unconditional love, compassion, kindness, patience, and forgiveness was constant. She encouraged those around her and instilled in most a desire to become better people. Judy joined her Heavenly Father Sunday, February 9. She was at home. With her family at her bedside, relieved from the pain of disease, Judy said goodbye and was swept into peaceful slumber. The family wishes to give special thanks to: Dr. David Buller, Jhovette Hightower, Dr. Illanko Upendran, and Faith Hospice. Friends are invited to Croley Funeral Home, Gilmer, Texas to say farewell. Visitation will be held, Wednesday, February 12, 6-8 pm.
