Services for Mr. Frank M. Calvert, 81, of Gilmer will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 11, 2011, at Gilmer Church of Christ with Johnny Coleman and Billy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Simpsonville Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Calvert passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. He was born July 18, 1929, in Upshur County, Texas to Edward N. and Ida Belle Reed Calvert. Mr. Calvert served in the U. S. Army and was an electrician at Lone Star Steel before his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ and Bethesda Lodge #142 A. F & A. M of Gilmer. He is survived by his wife, Dixie Henry Calvert of Gilmer; sons and daughters-in-law, David A. and Patsy Calvert of Tyler, Tony and LeAnn Calvert of Gilmer; daughters, Jan Williams of Gilmer, Elaine Davis of Ore City; sister, Floy Belle Duffey of Tyler; grandchildren, Candis Lane, Courtney Bowman, Allen Calvert, Vanessa Ferguson, Brandon Smith, Matthew Williams and Lindsay Glenn; nine great grandchildren. Mr. Calvert was preceded in death by brothers, Howard Calvert and Leo Green; sisters, Bertie Calvert, Ilda Pitman, Johnnie Lou Sorrells, and Eula Rhoades and his granddaughter, Ashlye Thorpe. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
