G.A. (Stan) Stanfield

G.A. Stan Stanfield, 86, of Longview, Texas went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on October 3, 2018. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Treasure Church at 2544 Hwy 42, in White Oak, Texas. A private family graveside service was held Friday, October 4, 2018, at White Cemetery in Pine Tree.

Stan was born January 24, 1932 in Trinidad, Texas to Luther and Florence Stanfield, who both preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his brother Tilmon Stanfield.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Joyce Stanfield; daughters Jeannean Schliesser and husband Gary, Jeannette Ray and Joanna Stanfield; Grandchildren Brad Schliesser and wife Dawn, Jennifer Sexton and husband James, Melissa Talbert and husband Lance, Jared Waldon, Joy Macinnes and husband Jonathan, Scott Harper and wife Brandi; Fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Upon graduation from Trinidad High School, he went on to graduate from East Texas Baptist University with a Bachelors of Science degree. Later He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Masters of Education degree.

Stan was called to the ministry and pastored churches in several East Texas cities. He and Joyce did mission work in many continents. He was a teacher, counselor and principal with Pine Tree and Longview schools.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sharma and Dr. Shen for their excellent care of him.
