Gary Howard Thweatt

On June 4, 2015 our beloved son, big brother and most wonderful uncle passed away. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas with Eddie Dean officiating. Gary was born in Dallas, Texas to Harry and Jerrianne Thweatt on August 5, 1960. Most of his formative years were spent in Ohio where he excelled academically and musically. After graduating from Medina High School, Gary attended Bowling Green State University on an AFROTC scholarship. He received a Bachelor"s Degree in Computer Science from BGSU in 1982 and was an AFROTC Distinguished Graduate. Gary then served his country with honor as a Tactical Intelligence Systems Development Officer and Microcomputer Project Manager, achieving the rank of Captain. Once he entered the private sector, Gary worked for Raytheon until his death. We will all remember Gary for his dry wit, passion for movies-especially MST3K and the unfailing support he exhibited to loved ones including his father Harry; brother Ron; wife Romy; his sister Laura Hamilton; nieces Caroline and Jillian Hamilton and nephews Christopher and Carson Thweatt, cousins and special friends the Hendrixs" with whom he shared many a Friday night pizza. In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation to The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or a favorite charity.
