Gaylon Scott

Gaylon Vaughn Scott, 81, of Gilmer passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022. He was born on February 13, 1941 in Mt. Pleasant, TX to the late Grover and Novice Kidwell Scott.

Mr. Scott was an industrial truckdriver for many years and will be missed by the loving friends and family he leaves behind. Gaylon is survived by his sons, Michael Scott of Quitman and Donnie Scott and wife, Kristen of Coppell; daughter, Kimberly Hill and husband, Samuel of Gilmer; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Mr. Scott is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Patsy Sue Joyner Scott, who passed away in 2009.

A graveside service for Mr. Scott will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Purley Baptist Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Texas with Mr. Phil Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
