Georgia G. Dixon

Mrs. Georgia Dixon, 92, died August 19, 2012, at her home in Gilmer, Texas. Georgia was born in Douglas County, Ava, MO., on November 3, 1919 to LZ Johnson and Remah Johnson. Her family later moved to California where she met and married her husband, William L. Dixon, Sr., in 1949. Georgia had three sons, Eldon Mackey, Weldon R. Mackey, and W.L. "Billy" Dixon, Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Hall of San Diego, CA, and two of her three children, Eldon and Billy. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, William L. Dixon, Sr., a son, Weldon R. Mackey and wife Peggy of College Station, TX.; seven grandchildren, Heather Dixon of Mesa, AZ., Kelsey and Stormy Dixon of Gilmer, TX., Tara Mackey of Dallas, TX., Byron Mackey of College Station, TX., Tamie Mackey of Henderson, TX. and Tony White of Mount Pleasant, TX.; four great-grandchildren, Grant and Garrett Mackey of College Station, TX., and McKenzie and Riley Monroe of Dallas, TX; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Visitation and service information, visitation will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; service will be Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Care Team as well as each and every care giver who lovingly watched after Georgia until the very end.
