Funeral services for Glen D. Bunn, 76, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2011 at St. Theresa"s Catholic Church in Union Grove with the Revered Monsignor Xavier Pappu and Father Joseph Ezharath officiating and burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. A prayer rosary will be at 6:30 PM on Friday followed by visitation from 7 to 8 PM at Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Bunn died June 27, 2011. Mr. Bunn was the son of the late Allen and Ruby Bunn. He was born October 24, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1957 and on October 13, 1962 he married Josefina Montillia "Nena." Mr. Bunn met his wife, Nena while stationed in the Philippines. Bunn served in The United States Navy for four years on the Admirals Staff in a helicopter anti-submarine squadron serving on the USS Oak Hill and was honorably discharged. . Mr. Bunn was the longtime administrator of the Ragland-Fenlaw-Ford Clinic Association in Gilmer and later Ford Memorial Hospital from 1967 to 1981. Bunn was cited in national healthcare publications as being a turn-around artist for reviving Permian General Hospital in Andrews, Texas and three other West Texas hospitals, from near closure to profitability. He is survived by his wife of 48 1/2 years, Nena Bunn; children, William Bunn and wife Rebekah Bunn and James "Jimmy" Bunn; a sister, Ruthelle Gamble; grandchildren, William Bunn II, Bonnye Bunn, Heather Pelton and husband Daniel Pelton and Brandi Bunn and Jessie Thibodeaux, Matthew Stanley, Mark Stanley and Derek Bell; great grandchildren, Ryan Slocum, Cameron Glen Pelton and Madisyn Thibodeaux. He was preceded in death by his brothers Billy Allen Bunn, Wyndell Ray Bunn, Horace (Danny) Bunn and sister Donna Lynn Nanny. Pallbearers are Roy Jones, Butch Ragland, Dean Clower, Dr. Eugene Foster, Fred Bates, John Palmer. Memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 100 W.
