Gregory Ray "Greg" Johns

Funeral services for Gregory Ray “Greg” Johns, 57, of White Oak, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2021, at the White Oak Community Church in White Oak. Private family interment will follow at Danville Cemetery in Kilgore. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Greg passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in Longview after a drawn-out battle with Covid pneumonia.


Greg was born July 15, 1964, in San Luis Obispo, California, to the late William Raymond Johns and Marilyn Carol Turner Watson. He served in the United States Navy as an Air Traffic Controller. After leaving the Navy, Greg developed widely diversified work skills. He found employment to support his new family as a pipefitter at Texas Eastman. He then taught himself to repair computers, enjoyed being a delivery driver, loved to trim and shape landscaping, and later became a purchase manager. He sought to improve and find efficiency in every task he was assigned or took on. He loved the Lord and was a devoted member of the White Oak Community Church. He spoke of God to all he loved and random strangers in a restaurant or coffee shop. Greg enjoyed putting together models with perfect detail, taught himself to play guitar, and was an avid and boisterous fan of his favorite football teams. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and enjoyed spending time over food or coffee with other family and friends. Greg will not soon be forgotten by those he leaves behind.


Greg is survived by his loving wife Sebina Johns; five daughters Jasmine Tiara Johns and husband Tyler Dever, Moriah Angelica Johns, Serenity Alexandria Johns, Hosanna Mishael Johns, Eliana Gabrielle Johns; three sisters Sonya Johns, Honey Small and husband Jason, Sundi Jackson and husband Mitch; one brother Jason Mabry and wife Yana; three grandsons Grant, Asher, and Roran; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
