James "Jim" Charles Brown

Mr. James “Jim” Charles Brown, age 95, of Kilgore, passed away on Wednesday, October, 21, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. Jim was born in Gladewater on April 20, 1925 to the late W.C. Brown and Berta Lee Brown. He was retired from Spencer-Harris Machine and Tool, and previously attended the Joy Baptist Church. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. Jim loved to fish, piddle with lawn mowers, an spend time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cleta Faye Audus Brown in 2004; brothers, Jack and Leo Brown; and sister, Mae Dowdy.
He is survived by two sons, Rick Brown and wife Debbie of Winona, Todd Brown of Kilgore; grandchildren, Jason Brown, Donald Brown and wife Amanda, Sabrina Smith and husband Chris, Cody Brown; three great-grandchidren, Saige Brown, Landon Brown, Ember Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater. Graveside services will follow on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery in Gladewater, Pastor Lawrence Thompson officiating.
