James Lawson Waller

Funeral services for James Lawson Waller, 81, of Gilmer will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Church of Christ in Gilmer with Mr. Steve Vogl and Mr. Mark Engel officiating. Interment will be in Chilton Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Waller passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, in a Tyler. Mr. Waller was born on April 1, 1932, in Upshur County, TX to Audie Lawson and Willie Mae Stringer Waller. He was retired from the Texas State Highway Department after 32 years of services, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force " Korea and a member of the Gilmer Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beth Waller of Gilmer; daughter, Becki Waller of Hawkins; son-in-law, Gary Lee Jones of Greenville; sister, Kathryn Fears of Tyler; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 12-great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Waller is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gayla Jones; sister, Mary Mell Dow. Pallbearers will be Bubba Owens, David Owens, Robert Owens, Jeremy Owens, Brady Jones and Tony Kent. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
