Mr. James Taylor went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday April 22, 2010. Services for Mr. Taylor, 71, of Gilmer will be held 3:00 P.M, Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Soules Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Tim Ruland officiating and interment to follow at Soules Chapel Cemetery in Upshur County under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. He was born March 11, 1939 in Daisetta, Texas to Albert and Hazel Junkins Taylor. Mr. Taylor served in the U. S. Navy from 1956 to 1960 and was a self employed contractor. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Taylor of Gilmer; daughters and son-in-law, Belynda and Michael Hillin of Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas, Beth Taylor Austin of Garland; brother, Larry Taylor of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Betty Allen of Pearland, Genavive Hein of Crockett, Jaynell Mitchell of Alvin, Dean Griffin of Crockett; grandchildren, Garrett Taylor, Dakota Paige Hillin, Hunter Hillin all of Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Texas and Kristina Austin of Garland. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Thomas Taylor; sisters Jewell Nolan and Juanita Nugent. Pallbearers will be Fred Betterton, Tim Caffey, Audean Coppedge, Joe Bob Hunter, J. C. Johns, John Perryman, Kenneth Ray, Danny Shattles and Frankie Castloo. The honorary pallbearers are Duoray Davidson, Jim Heinz and the staff and caretakers of Kinsman Hospice. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 24 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
