James Travis Garner

Services for James Travis Garner, 77, of Gladewater will be Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater with Brother Bailey Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Travis passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 in Gladewater.

Mr. Garner was born July 7, 1939 in Gladewater to the late Edgar William Garner and Effie Irene Medlin Garner. Travis was a lifelong resident of the Gladewater area. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Garner was retired from GE/Trane Air Conditioning after many years of service. Travis enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time visiting with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by all the loving family and friends he leaves behind.

He is survived by his son Tommy Mack Garner and wife, Marsha of Diana; daughter, Trecia Ann Garner of Gladewater; sister, Lillie Nadine Echman of Houston; four grandchildren Michaela Ann Wiley and husband, Chris of Rowlett, Justin Wayne Garner and wife, Brooke of Carthage, MO., Christin Leigh Garner of Longview and Cory Travis Dale Garner of Diana; three great grandchildren Cooper Alexander Wiley, Paisley Kay Garner and Presley Jean Sides as well as many other loving family and friends.

Travis is preceded in death by his parents, wife Gloria Jean Garner, two sons Billy Wayne Garner and Kenneth Ray Garner and two sisters Ila Bernice Howison and Helen Eloise Heyder.
