James Turner Pharr

Mr. James Turner Pharr, 83 of Big Sandy, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 in Whitehouse, Texas. James was born on October 14, 1938 in Yalobusha, Mississippi to the late David and Mattie Hill Pharr. Mr. Pharr was in the Marine Core Reserve and worked as a machine equipment operator. He also spent time working on the dairy farm. James will be greatly missed by the ones he leaves behind.

James is survived by his son, Charles Pharr and his wife Becky; daughter, Louan Warton; sisters, Aline McCary and Maxine Castle; as well as 10 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Pharr; son, James Thomas Pharr; stepson, Leslie Shawn Crone; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer with Bro. Mark Huffines officiating, interment to follow at Hoover Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Croley Funeral Home.
