Services for James W. Maloney, 71, of Gilmer will be held 11:00 A.M, Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Willow Oak Baptist Church in Upshur County, Texas with Bro. Anthony Anderson and Bro. Robbie Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Oak Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Maloney passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011 in Gilmer. He was born on November 12, 1940 in Gilmer to Dewey Green and Eura Carpenter Maloney. Mr. Maloney served in the U. S. Navy, attended Kilgore College and was a Staking Engineer for Upshur Rural Electric before his retirement in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Maloney of Gilmer; son, Robert Maloney; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Rae and Trae Norman of Nacogdoches, Patricia Lynn and Dennis Jones of Gladewater, Karlie Maloney of Gilmer; 5 grandchildren, Ty Norman, Jacob Norman, Danielle Maloney, Hailee Alonso and her husband, Vannon, Mark Jones and his wife, Chelsea; great grandchild, Raylee Alonso. Pallbearers will be Arlie Bradshaw, Dennis Jones, Jerry Davidson, Hershel Brasher, Royce Threadgill, Jr., and Billy Davidson. Honorary Pallbearers are Spec. Mark Jones, U. S. Army, PO 2 Vannon Alonso, U. S. Navy, Trae Norman, Buford Fountain, Jim Sharp, Dean Batts, and Malcomb Wright The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 24 at 10:00 am until service time at the church.
