Jean Andrews

Mrs. Jean Andrews, 85, of Gilmer found complete peace when she went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 21, 2012. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 28, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at Memorial Park in Tyler, Texas, with Reverend Wayne Norvell officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 27, 2012 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Born January 9, 1927, in DeKalb, Texas, to Benjamin Fledge Clark and Mary Ann Stone Clark, she moved to Gilmer in the early 1950"s with her husband, State Trooper Bud Andrews who was sent to serve Upshur County. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Jean" to her nieces and nephews and as "Honey" to her great-nieces and great-nephews. She dearly loved her family and was considered the "favorite aunt" to many. A homemaker, she was a member of the Gilmer First Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her church dearly, serving faithfully for many years, singing in the choir, working with the youth and visiting and caring for shut-ins. She was a vivacious, out-going, fun-loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend before her illness. She is survived by her brother, B. F. Clark of Midland, Texas, a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie "Bud" Andrews, her son, John Michael Andrews, 4 brothers Monroe, Estes, Clifton and Charlie Clark, 4 sisters Erma Cooper, Ora Askew, Frances Braden and Bessie Cunningham. The family would like to thank Ralph & Gloria Madera, Tina Gillaspy and all the staff at the Bradford House for the loving & excellent care they gave to her for the past eleven years. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Gilmer First Baptist Church, 217 W. Cass, Gilmer, Texas 75644 or National Alliance of Mental Health Attn: Paula Hendrix, P.O.
