Services for Mrs. Jean Arrington, 80, of Gilmer will be held 11:00 A.M, Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer with Reverend David Thornton officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas. With her family by her side, Mrs. Arrington went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2011 in Tyler She was born September 22, 1930 in Elmer, Oklahoma to Jewel Gosdin and Thelma DeSpain Gosdin. Mrs. Arrington was a homemaker, AWANNA and Sunday school Teacher at New Hope Baptist Big Sandy, a beloved member of Pritchett Quilting Club, a volunteer with the Pink Ladies at ETMC in Gilmer, and the Treasurer for Pritchett Community Center. She also supported the Pritchett Volunteer Fire Department in their endeavors. Jean"s interests included quilting, gardening, painting, dancing, dominoies and cooking- especially cooking. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and there was always " room for one more at the table." Jean was a gentle, caring woman, truly devoted to her family, friends and community, She was always there for anyone who needed her. Everyone who knew her, loved her; and she loved them. Most of all, we will miss her smile and laugh, her encouraging words, and warm hugs. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law; Robert Arrington of Pritchett, Donald Arrington of Pritchett, Larry and Kim Arrington of Dallas, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Cherre and Bruce Watson of Athens, Texas; brothers, Calvin Gosdin of Sulphur Springs, James Gosdin of Arkansas; sisters, Joyce Mask of Gilmer, Shirley Rutledge of Saginaw, and Carolyn Dortch of Colleyville; seven grandchildren, Shannon Robertson, Michael Arrington, Jamie Shico, Dr. Blake Watson, Ryah Clary, Christina Davis and Abigail Arrington; nine great grandchildren, Jolea Robertson, Jenna Robertson, Jobey Shico, Bailey Shico, Renna Watson, Hailey Clary, James Clary, Mason Davis and Coy Davis. Mrs. Arrington was preceded in death her husband Donald Preston "D. P. "Arrington. Pallbearers will be Larry Arrington, Michael Arrington, Jack Dortch, Calvin Gosdin, Terry Lee Rutledge, Dr. Blake Watson and Dr. Bruce Watson. Honorary Pallbearers are Donald Arrington, Jim Eitel and Dr. David L. Jenkins. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
