Jean Gaston Newsom

Funeral services for Jean Gaston Newsom of Big Sandy, Texas will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer with Pastor Trinity Bounds and Jim Wolstenholm officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Upshur County under the director of Croley Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the Croley Funeral Home. Mrs. Newsom passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Longview, Texas.

Jean was born January 15, 1930, in Upshur County to Howard Miles and Irene Barton Miles. Mrs. Jean was a member of the Gilmer Church of The Nazarene.

Mrs. Newsome is survived by her son, Jerry Gaston and wife Denise of Gilmer; daughter; Janis Whiteside of Rockwall, daughter-in-law; Janis Gaston Hughes of Kilgore, grandchildren; Gerald Coddington, Cindy Bounds, Rebecca Lane, Samantha Lane, Amanda Gaston, Chelsie Talley, Ryan Gaston, Jeff Gaston, and seventeen great grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Hulen Gaston and second husband Pat Newsom, and son; James Gaston.
