Jean Wiggins

Jean Wiggins, 76, of Big Sandy, passed away at home on November 28, 2022. She was born on September 21, 1946, in Malden, Missouri to the late R.T. and Sarah Gibson. Jean grew up living in Texarkana and Houston.

Jean was known as a hard worker, always working a full-time job. She worked for over 30 years at Mike’s Mini Mart in Gladewater, not afraid to put people in their place, earning her the nickname “Mean Jean”. Jean loved her family and mad sure her kids and grandkids were taken care of. She loved having family gatherings, cooking as well as celebrating the Christmas season.

She is survived by her son, Roy DeWhite Wiggins and his girlfriend, Mary Griffin; grandchildren, Savannah and her husband, Cody, Burkett, Michael Wiggins, and Harley Wiggins; great-grandchildren, Layla Burkett and Bryce Wiggins, her close friends, Mike and Angie Reid, as well as numerous other extended family members.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, R.T. and Sarah Gibson; husband, Roy Lee Wiggins; brother, Rufus and his wife, Pat, Gibson; sisters Patricia Walton and Ann Robinson; and her granddaughter, Jessica Wiggins.

Funeral Services for Jean will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 11:00 am at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. A visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm for friends and family. Following the service Jean will be laid to rest in the Gladewater Memorial Park Cemetery.
