Cremation arrangements for Jessie Kenneth Broughton, 75, of Big Sandy are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Mr. Broughton passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 in Tyler. No further services are planned at this time.

Mr. Broughton was born January 29, 1941 in Paris, TX to Jessie Lee Thomas Broughton and Veda Francis Richardson Broughton. Jessie grew up in Paris, TX. Later, he relocated to the Greenville, TX where he married Glennie Faye McDonald on the 18th of February in 1961. They moved to Big Sandy in 1987 and have lived there together for the last 29 years. Jessie retired from Stanley Refrigeration Trucking Co. after many years of service. The Broughtons are members of The First Assembly of God in Big Sandy.

Jessie enjoyed fishing in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife Glennie Broughton of Big Sandy; daughter Deena Brown and husband J.R. of Longview; son Kenny Wayne Broughton of Big Sandy. Jessie will be forever remembered by his sisters Charcenell Elliot of Starville and Estoleen Bowman of Commerce, as well as, Grandchildren Stepfanie Elox, Keith Shields, Stacy Shields, Angela Shields, Zachary Brown, Deanna Lee, and Rebecca Jackson, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren along with other family and friends whom were blessed to know him.

Jessie is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Thomas Broughton and Veda Francis Broughton, his two brothers Bobby Broughton from Diana and Wayne Broughton from Gladewater.
