Services for Joe Hicks Bynum, 79, of Gilmer will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, with Glenda Mendoza and Brian Peck officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Bynum passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in Gilmer. Mr. Bynum was born April 14, 1931 in Pittsburg to Ray and Roberta Bynum. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Robroy and was a member of Union Ridge Methodist Church. Mr. Bynum is survived by Sons: David Payne of Hallsville, Paul Bynum of Gilmer; Brothers: David Bynum, Bobby Bynum, James Bynum; Sister: Mary Gipson of Gilmer; Four-Grandchildren; Six-Great-Grandchildren and One-Great-Great-Grandchild. He is preceded in death by his Wife: Glenda Bynum in 2005 and Daughter: Judy Payne in 1986. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2010 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
