Johnny Dodson

GILMER- Graveside services for Johnny Dodson, 75, of Rosewood, Texas will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Rosewood Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas with Bro. Charles Johnson and Bro. Gary Dodson officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
Johnny went to be with His Lord on March 3, 2017 at Good Shepherd Medical Center. Johnny was born on April 28, 1941 in Gilmer, Texas to Eugene Victor Dodson and Thelma Louise Gurnsey Dodson.
Johnny graduated from Marshall High School in May of 1959. Johnny worked at Snyder Lumber Company, the U.S. Army at Thiokol Ammunition Plant, Harmony School System, and Gil-Tex Construction until he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Marie Dodson; four children, Greg Dodson, Vikki Barrington, Becky Roots, and Bro. Gary Dodson, along with their respective families. He is also survived by a sister, Jeannie Gober and brother –in- law Tommy Gober of Tyler, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jimmie and Freddie Dodson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Monday March 6, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
